Nic Pacholok

 began his dance career as a folk dancer with the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers in Edmonton, Canada. After 9 years of study at the Shumka School of Dance under a folk ballet syllabus, Nic danced professionally with the Shumka Dancers for a period of over 8 years which featured multiple Canadian and international tours, including sold-out performances at Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Centre and New York City Center.

Following his time with the Shumka Dancers, Nic’s artistic focus shifted towards classical and contemporary ballet as he began attending the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City, where he performed as a member of the Joffrey Concert Group under the direction of Bradley Shelver. During his studies, Nic performed numerous classical and contemporary works including those by Gerald Arpino, Marius Petipa, Bradley Shelver, Ohad Naharin, and Shahar Binyamini.

Nic’s unique command of folk dance and classical ballet has garnered him interest as an international guest performer & instructor. Nic was recently invited as a soloist to perform at the Youth America Grand Prix’s “Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow” galas in Como and Milan, Italy, among principal soloists of the Dutch National Ballet & New York City Ballet, among others.

In addition to his pursuits in dance, Nic has an interest in the physical sciences and holds a bachelors degree in Mathematical Physics from the University of Alberta.
