
Leah Andersen
began her training in Lincoln, NE. She was a Company member with Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company and was a part of their production of The Nutcracker for ten years. She has trained at several summer programs including University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Charlotte Ballet, Ballet West, Exploring Ballet with Suzanne Farrell, and Kansas City Ballet. In 2019 Leah competed at the Youth America Grand Prix World Finals in New York. There she was offered a position in the Professional Training Division at Ballet West. She then went on to dance in the PTD program and Trainee Division for three years performing in many pieces including Balanchine’s Western Symphony and Bournonville’s A Folktale.
Leah joined City Ballet of San Diego as an Apprentice in 2022. In 2025, she was promoted to Company Artist. She has performed in George Balanchine’s Rubies, Serenade, 4 Temperaments, Emeralds, and Donizetti Variations. She has also performed in Romeo & Juliet, Swan Lake, An American in Paris, Dracula, and many other classical and contemporary productions with the company. Leah performed a solo role in Geoff Gonzalez’s Carmina Burana. Leah is also a teacher and choreographer who began her career in her hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska. She continues to guest teach and choreograph while also teaching in San Diego, California. In 2021, she choreographed an ensemble that was invited to the Youth America Grand Prix Finals.
