Annette Darren grew up training at San Francisco Ballet School until the age of 18. She then went on to dance in the Pre-Professional Division at Miami City Ballet where she had the opportunity to perform in George Balanchine’s Western Symphony and Jerome Robbin’s 2 and 3 Part Inventions. She completed her training at Charlotte Ballet, where she had the opportunity to perform in company productions, and work with Patrica McBride on Balanchine repertoire, performing George Balanchine’s Minkus Pas de Trois and Walpurgisnacht Ballet. Annette joined City Ballet of San Diego in 2023 as an Apprentice. Her highlights include dancing The Rose and Arabian in Elizabeth Wistrich’s The Nutcracker, Melancholic demi-soloist in George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, George Balanchine’s Serenade, and dancing as one of the principals in Elizabeth Wistrich’s Mozart Concerto. In 2024 she was promoted to Company Artist.
