Kevin Engle, Character Artist, began his training locally with California Ballet, then moved on to study with the Joffrey Ballet in New York. Under the auspices of various touring groups, he was able to perform extensively throughout the United States, Mexico, Southeast Asia, Japan and the former Soviet Union. During his seven-year tenure with Ballet West he had the opportunity to work with such notable choreographers as Michael Smuin, Val Canaparoli, John Neumeier and Ben Stevenson and to perform at such venues as Artpark, New York, Wolftrap, Virginia and Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Irvine, a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Utah, and a Master of Arts in Depth Psychology from Pacific Graduate Institute.
During Kevin’s twenty-five seasons with City Ballet, he has performed principal roles in many City Ballet productions, including Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker, Captain Hook in Peter Pan, Gamache in Don Quixote and Lord Montague in Romeo and Juliet to name a few.
