City Ballet of San Diego is ‘on the town’ and back ‘on the stage’ offering four exciting productions. As Spreckels Theatre, our home theater, is going through renovations this year, you will find City Ballet performing at different theaters through out the community. Watch for us ‘on the town’ with Classics in Concert in the Fall, the holiday classic The Nutcracker in December, the popular Rhapsody in Blue in March and closing the season in the Spring with a full-length Don Quixote.

Classics in Concert
This opening production of City Ballet’s 29th Anniversary Season is a true ballet lovers’ program – three ballets by Elizabeth Wistrich that include the classic tutu ballet of ‘Paquita’ after Marius Petipa, the enchanting ‘Elegies’ and her fast-paced ‘Gottschalk Festival’.

ON THE MOVE
City Ballet of San Diego, under the direction of Steven Wistrich, reprises two world premieres by Resident Choreographer Geoff Gonzalez. His ballets are inspired through the cultivation of reimagined, contemporary movement based on the classical artform. Gonzalez acts to shed new light, while continuing to uphold ballet’s beautiful traditions.

Rhapsody In Blue
City Ballet continues its commitment of presenting works choreographed by the great George Balanchine, plus this season works by additional choreographers to create a program for all who love ballet.
