Sumire Ito,<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

a native of Japan, began her ballet training at the Hamamatsu City<\/span> Ballet.She attended The Washington School of Ballet’s Summer Intensives in 2009 and 2010 on full scholarship. In 2011<\/span>, she joined Atlantic City Ballet after one year as a trainee with The Washington Ballet. During her four years with Atlantic City Ballet, Sumire performed principal roles such as Carmen in Carmen<\/cite>, Lucy in Dracula<\/cite>, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream<\/cite>, and Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty<\/cite>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Now in her eighth season with City Ballet<\/span> of San Diego<\/span>, Sumire has performed the lead roles in The Firebird<\/cite>, Giselle<\/cite>, The Nutcracker<\/cite>, Swan Lake<\/cite>, Tchai Celebration<\/cite>, Requiem<\/cite>, Straw Feet<\/cite>, Le Corsaire<\/cite> Pas de Deux<\/span>, La Bayadere<\/cite>, Rhapsody in Blue<\/cite>, Don Quixote<\/cite>, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet<\/cite>, the company’s premiere of Peter Martins’<\/span> Ash<\/cite>, and George Balanchine’s<\/span> Apollo<\/cite>, La Baiser De La Fee<\/cite>, Donezetti Variations<\/cite>, The Four Temperaments<\/cite>, Walpurgisnacht Ballet<\/cite>, and George Balanchine’s Emeralds<\/cite>.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
