Chelsea Kuhn received her training in her hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana from Expressenz Dance Center. Where she trained under several teachers including, Karla Curatolo, Marek Cholewa, Rosanna Ruffo, and Becky Pettit. She received additional training from Ballet Met and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago over summer intensive courses throughout the years. Chelsea graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dance Arts Administration from Butler University in 2018. While at Butler, Chelsea had the opportunity to work with Deborah Wingert, Susan McGuire, Patrick Hinson, Michelle Jarvis, and Derek Reid. She performed soloist roles in George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, Paul Taylor’s Piazzolla Caldera, The Nutcracker, and corps roles in Swan Lake and Giselle. After graduating from Butler University, Chelsea joined City Ballet of San Diego as an apprentice and performed in George Balanchine’s Who Cares?, Walpurgisnacht Ballet, The Four Temperaments, Geoff Gonzalez’s four PAIR, Carmina Burana, and Elizabeth Wistrich’s The Nutcracker and Straw Feet. After two seasons as an apprentice, the 2020-2021 season will be Chelsea’s first season as a full company member.
