Performances for School-Aged Children

City Ballet offers special performances for school children.  This is a great way to introduce children to ballet in a formal theater setting.  Teachers are provided with a teacher's guide structured around the State of California Department of Education's challenge standards.

The Firebird

Igor Stravinsky's score brings to life the Russian story of a mystical bird that saves fair maidens from an evil magician.  Also on the program is the comical and delightful Stravinsky Suites.  Choreography by City Ballet resident choreographer Elizabeth Wistrich.

Tchaikovsky's full-length classic ballet about a young girl, Clara, who is given a Nutcracker for Christmas.
